Practice Makes Perfect

Santa Barbara team race scrimmage:

This was a very informative and helpful weekend for the UC Irvine ‘Eaters!

With 24 boats on the water, our team was able to team race against teams

with a wide variety of skill. The event was held inside the Santa Barbara

Harbor with exception to a couple races outside the harbor on Sunday. This

event was special because it was open to all sailors, so we saw

competition from UCLA and Stanford Alumni. Wind speed varied from 0-10

knots, which we used to our advantage with our incredible boat speed. Our

team worked well having Jack and Rex be the attackers, and Brian being a

“home wrecker” to the rest of the fleet. We do have a lot to work on, but

we recognize it and we will work on it. Rex kept telling me that he can

see plays, shifts, and moves all working together so clearly now. So go

Rex! And go ‘Eaters!!
