45th Anniversary Season
The 2010-2011 Sailing Season will mark UCI's 45 Anniversary. The festivities will kick off with the UCI Team hosting the 2010 PCCSC Match Race Conference Championships with Balboa Yacht Club in early October (and alumni cocktail party), then the annual Anteater High School Regatta in December with Newport Harbor Yacht Club and finally the Nick Scandone Memorial PB & Jam Alumni Regatta in March. We hope you can join us for some or all of it. The team's goal is to raise $45,000 to help replace our aging equipment and afford a coach for a few regattas. 2009-2010 Season Wrap Up
The 2009-2010 Sailing Season was a year of experimenting and learning. This being the first year that the team had to survive without the assistance of a coach or the UCI Athletic Department the students had to step up and take the leadership roles. They organized practices and regatta travel, lined up coaches when they could, managed a budget and discovered how hard it is to manage a student run program. Many lessons were learned but they also had a lot of fun along the way. Participating in two national championships (Sloop Nationals in the Fall and Coed Semi Finals in the Spring) the young team is eager to take what they learned this past year and ratchet it up a step for the 2010-2011 season. Expect to see the Anteaters making their mark in the fall.
